About Find a Recall
Find a Recall is an independent search and consumer-education service that organizes public recall records from United States government agencies.
Why the site exists
Recall information is published across separate FDA, USDA FSIS, and CPSC systems. Different agencies use different identifiers and formats. Find a Recall brings available records into one searchable index while preserving the issuing agency, source identifier, source link, and important product fields.
What we do
- Collect records from available official agency data sources.
- Normalize fields so visitors can search by product, company, hazard, UPC, lot, or model information.
- Display source-provided product images when their use is permitted and the URL is available.
- Provide original guides that explain how to compare a product with a notice.
- Direct visitors to the official announcement for final verification and instructions.
What we do not do
We do not issue recalls, determine whether a specific item is affected, provide emergency alerts, replace professional advice, or speak for a government agency or recalling company.
