Privacy Policy

Effective: July 28, 2026  |  Last reviewed: July 28, 2026

Find a Recall (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates findarecall.net as an independent public-information and search service. This policy explains what information may be processed when you visit the website, search recall records, or contact us.

1. Information you provide

You do not need an account to search the website. If you contact us, we may receive your name, email address, subject, message, and any information you voluntarily include. Please do not send medical records, payment-card information, government identification numbers, passwords, or other sensitive information through the contact form.

2. Technical and server information

Our hosting and security systems may process IP address, browser and device type, requested page, referring page, timestamps, error information, and similar server-log data. We use this information to operate the site, diagnose problems, prevent abuse, maintain security, and understand general website performance.

3. Searches

Search terms may be processed to return recall results and may appear in technical logs. Do not put personal or sensitive information into the search box. Search terms are not a substitute for verification through the official issuing agency.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

The website may use essential cookies for security and basic operation, including contact-form protection. If advertising or measurement services are enabled, we and our service providers may also use cookies, local storage, pixels, device identifiers, or similar technologies, subject to applicable consent requirements and the choices made available to you.

5. Google advertising

We intend to use Google AdSense after the site is accepted. If Google advertising is enabled, third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on a visitor’s prior visits to this or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies may enable it and its partners to serve personalized or non-personalized ads, depending on location, consent, account settings, and applicable law.

You can learn about Google’s advertising data practices and available controls at Google’s advertising technologies page and manage personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings.

6. Consent and privacy choices

Where required, visitors may be shown a consent or privacy-choice message before optional advertising technologies are used. Choices may include accepting, rejecting, or managing certain purposes. Availability and effect of these controls can depend on your location and applicable law. You may also use browser controls to delete or block cookies, although some site functions may be affected.

7. Service providers and disclosures

We may use hosting, email, security, analytics, and advertising providers to operate the website. These providers may process information on our behalf or under their own published policies. We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect the site and its users, investigate abuse, or establish or defend legal rights.

8. Official-agency and external links

Recall pages link to FDA, USDA FSIS, CPSC, recalling companies, and other external sites. Their privacy and security practices are controlled by those organizations, not by Find a Recall. Review the external site’s policy before providing information.

9. Data retention and security

We retain contact submissions and technical logs only as reasonably needed for communication, security, troubleshooting, legal compliance, and site operation. Retention periods may vary by type of record and hosting configuration. We use reasonable safeguards, but no online system can be guaranteed completely secure.

10. Children’s privacy

The site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly request personal information from children. A parent or guardian who believes a child has submitted personal information may contact us to request review or deletion.

11. Requests and questions

Depending on where you live, you may have privacy rights concerning access, correction, deletion, or certain uses of personal information. To ask a question or submit a request, email support@findarecall.net. We may need to verify a request before acting on it.

12. Policy updates

We may revise this policy when our practices or legal obligations change. The updated effective date will appear at the top of this page. Material changes may also be highlighted on the website.
