WASHINGTON, Aug. 8, 2026 – City Foods, Inc., a Chicago, Ill., establishment, is recalling approximately 3,215 pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) pastrami and corned beef productsthat may be adulterated with Listeria monocytogenes (Lm), the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. The RTE pastrami and corned beef products were produced on July 16, 2026, and have a 60-day shelf life. The following products are subject to recall [view labels]: 10-lb. cardboard boxes containing four 2.5-lb. pieces of “MIDAMAR HALAL SLICED PASTRAMI ROUND 4/2.5# - MIDAMAR” with “ITEM #: MBPS10” printed on the label. Various weight 20- to 30-lb. cardboard boxes containing 2-3 pieces of “BEA’S BEST COOKED CORNED BEEF BRISKET” with case code “18919” printed on the box label. Various weight 20- to 30-lb. cardboard boxes containing 2-3 pieces of “KIRSCH DELICATESSEN STYLE COOKED CORNED BEEF BRISKET” with case code “19751” printed on the box label. The products bear establishment number “EST. 1896” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to foodservice locations in Illinois, Iowa, and Michigan, from which they were further distributed nationwide. The problem was discovered during routine inspection activities. There have been no confirmed reports of illness due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about illness should contact a healthcare provider. Consumption of food contaminated with Lm can cause listeriosis, a serious infection that primarily affects older adults, persons with weakened immune systems, and pregnant women and their newborns. Less commonly, persons outside these risk groups are affected. Listeriosis can cause fever, muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance and convulsions sometimes preceded by diarrhea or other gastrointestinal symptoms. An invasive infection spreads beyond the gastrointestinal tract. In pregnant women, the infection can cause miscarriages, stillbirths, premature delivery or life-threatening infection of the newborn. In addition, serious and sometimes fatal infections in older adults and persons with weakened immune systems. Listeriosis is treated with antibiotics. Persons in the higher-risk categories who experience flu-like symptoms within two months after eating contaminated food should seek medical care and tell the health care provider about eating the contaminated food. FSIS is concerned that some products may be in consumers’ refrigerators and freezers, along with institution refrigerators and freezers. Consumers and institutions who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase. This recall involves certain Amana brand Through the Wall (TTW) air conditioners or heat pumps. These products are white and the brand name is printed on most of the units’ control covers. The units are used to provide room climate control. They most often are installed at hotels, apartment buildings, and commercial spaces. The model number and serial number are located on the front of the unit on the front edge of the base pan on a white sticker. Recalled units have a model number beginning with PB. WASHINGTON, Aug. 8, 2026 – The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is issuing a public health alert for meat and poultry products containing FDA-regulated jalapeños that may be contaminated with Salmonella. FSIS expects additional downstream products will be identified as this ingredient recall progresses. As more information becomes available, FSIS will update this public health alert. Consumers should check back frequently. The problem was discovered when FDA notified FSIS that multiple FSIS-regulated establishments received an FDA-regulated ingredient that had been recalled. Consumption of food contaminated with Salmonella can cause salmonellosis, one of the most common bacterial foodborne illnesses. The most common symptoms of salmonellosis are diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and fever within 6 hours to 6 days after eating the contaminated product. The illness usually lasts 4 to 7 days. Most people recover without treatment. In some persons, however, the diarrhea may be so severe that the patient needs to be hospitalized. Older adults, infants, and persons with weakened immune systems are more likely to develop severe illness. Individuals concerned about an illness should contact their health care provider. This recall involves Loyoda-branded adult portable bed rails. The bed rail comes in silver, measures 13.38 inches wide by 17.71 inches tall and can be extended to 20.47 inches tall. “Loyoda” and the model “FBL140202” are both printed on labels on the product. Only bed rails manufactured before December 15, 2025 are included in this recall. The manufacture date in YYYY-MM-DD format and model number are printed on the product packaging.

This recall involves the Spiral Toy (spinning toy). The toy comes with various colored platforms (three, five, or seven, depending on the model) that can be stacked and several yellow plastic balls with a bear head and a basket at the top. One model comes with a basket and a bull head. The packaging lists the manufacturer, manufacturer’s address and email, product name, batch code and various warnings on a sticker label. A separate sticker label has the SKU code “sl25013088678574868” with a bar code and “Made in China” along with various Chinese characters.
